Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran was a businesswoman, investor and speaker from the United States. The Corcoran Group was a New York City real estate brokerage that she founded. NRT purchased it for $66million in 2001. Corcoran later left the company. Corcoran, one of ABC's first Shark investors was a featured guest of each episode of Shark Tank. She has been involved in 53 deals as of February of 2020. The biggest was a $350,000 investment that will provide 40% of Coverplay. Corcoran was the second of a family of 10 kids, and was raised in Edgewater. Florence was her mother. She was an exemplary homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. her father, was a multi-talented employee throughout the years of Corcoran's childhood. In times, her family relied on deliveries of food that was free from a friendly local grocer. Corcoran still remembers her father as someone who would drink sometimes and did not treat her mother with respect. Corcoran struggled in school and later learned that she was dyslexic. She was a student at the local Catholic elementary school and started the high school system at St. Cecilia High School in Englewood. Corcoran completed her studies at Leonia High School with a diploma in English, despite failing several courses during her first year of high school.
