Jennifer Rene Psaki
Jennifer Rene Psaki is a American political adviser who served as the 34th White House news secretary between 2021 and 222. As a member of the Democratic Party she has previously served in the Obama administration as White House deputy press secretary (2009), White House assistant director of communications (2009–2011) as well as the spokesperson for the United States Department of State(2013-2015) and White House communication director (2015–2017). Psaki was a CNN political contributor from 2017 until 2020. Her career in politics began in 2001 when she worked on behalf of the reelection campaigns for Tom Harkin, an Iowa Democrat running for the U.S. Senate. Psaki was appointed John Kerry's deputy press secretary in 2004. Psaki was communications director for Joseph Crowley, a U.S. Representative, and the regional press secretary of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee from 2005 to the year 2006. Psaki was the press secretary for President Obama's 2012 reelection campaigns. 20 February 13th, 2013, Psaki became the spokesperson for the United States Department of State. [20] There was speculation that she would succeed Jay Carney, White House Press Secretary, in the Department of State.[21However, Josh Earnest replaced Carney on May 30 in 2014. She returned to the White House in 2015 to become the communications director. She remained with the Obama administration until its conclusion.
